Anne Marie Carrie – Chairperson
Anne Marie Carrie has 35 years experience of Education and Children's Services. She has been Director of Education in Edinburgh, East Lothian , North Tyneside and In the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea where she became the Deputy Chief Executive of the Royal Borough.
Anne Marie also worked in Central Government in the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and as a Commissioner on the Child Poverty and Social Mobility Commission. She was Chief Executive of Barnardo's the largest UK Children's Charity. Anne Marie brings passion, experience and dedication to her role as Chair of Yarrow Heights School.
Karen Gaster – School Head
Over the last 18 years Karen has been successfully employed as a senior educationalist in multiple leadership positions within the specialist sector of UK education. As the Head Teacher of a Local Authority Special School, the School achieved two consecutive 'Outstanding' Ofsted ratings. Karen went on to work in independent SEN Schools and led an underperforming SEMH school in Hampshire to achieve an Ofsted Outstanding rating. Karen was the Operation Director of the Priory Education Group from 2013-2018 overseeing a number of Special Education Needs schools and most recently an Executive Principal of the Cambian Group. Karen lives in Southampton.
Yarrow Heights School is owned by a consortium of private investors, led by Alfred Foglio, Managing Partner of Micota Capital (www.micotacapital.com) and David Persaud.
Alfred Foglio has been an active investor in behavioural health and Children's social care in the UK for over 15 years. He led the Health and Social Care practice of GI Partners in Europe and chaired the Cambian Group from inception through its public listing in 2014. Alfred was also a Board Member of the UK Government's Children's Social Care Innovation Programme (CSCIP) which was launched in 2014 to test and share effective ways of supporting vulnerable children and young people who need help from children's social care services. The programme supported 98 projects through £200 million of investment.
David Persaud's mother taught Science at St. Mary's for 18 years and Mr. Persaud's brothers attended St Mary's. Mr. Persaud brings financial expertise to our school as well as a deeply personal connection to the history of the site. He is former Managing Director at JP Morgan, Partner at Ferox Capital, and an experienced Board Member across a range of impactful companies. He lives in close proximity to the school.
